Project: Casa Silingovschi (2008-2009)

The house we designed for mr.Silingovschi and his family is situated on a lot of around 1000m2 in Uberlândia. As the family really enjoys sharing a good churrasco (barbeque) with friends and family, we organised the house around an axis of common spaces; the entrance, the living room and the varanda. We split the rest of the programme of the house in two, on one side the bed- and bathrooms, and the other side the service rooms, kitchen, laundry and housekeepers. Special wish was a fitness room and a sauna, which we situated on the first floor of the house, overlooking the swimming pool. We used the extra height to create double-height for the dining-room. The large overhanging roofs unit the volumes and spaces of the house, providing ample shadow and protection during the hot summers.
